My Niches: (or lack thereof)

I’m author Ames Pointer, but you can call me Amy.

I’m a writer, artist, mother, and wife. I’m okay with all of those titles. 

My theory is that we CAN have it all as women, we just can’t have it all at the same time. Therefore, I’ve dedicated much of my adult life towards raising my kids and homeschooling them. This means my career has been on the back burner. But that’s okay, I can still write and work towards bettering myself and my art in my (limited) free time until I kick the birds out of the nest.

That’s where nichlesswonder.com comes into play. Here I can share my writing, my art, and my journey towards literary world domination. You can watch me awaken and grow in these areas as I strive to reach the masses.

I love learning about religions, NOT just my chosen religion. (I’m a Catholic convert from nothing. Literally. Nothing.) Though, you will see lots of reflections on Christianity, and even some criticism of it. You’ll see how I worked my way to where I am right now, and you’ll be able to hear how the study of other faith beliefs molded me. I believe we are all sent here to learn to love each other, and the last thing we should do is let a faith life get in the way of that.

I homeschool our three children, one of which has special needs, so you might see some posts about homeschool, autism, or raising kids in general.

I have raised chickens for the past six years. You’ll be privy to my raccoon wars, my fermented feed journeys, and my predator proofing.

I’ve been married for twenty one years, so you might get some relationship blogs, though if I were a relationship expert, we probably wouldn’t argue so much. lol

I love to make art. Bad art. Good art. All kinds of art. We will explore that.

My poetry is bad. So bad. But I still write it, so you’ll be forced to read it, because THAT’S WHAT FRIENDS DO.

I’m a professional photographer, though I don’t take sessions at the moment. I’m not a “mom tog”, I am legitimately talented behind a lens and have won multiple awards for it. It’s the ONE thing I am confident at in life. lol I’m usually not one to toot my own horn, and I diminish my accomplishments, but I am an expert with a camera. There I said it, I’ll move on. PRAISE ME.

I’m silly, goofy, and I love to cook. I like to experiment. I make my own soap. Sometimes I splurge on body sprays and lotions and give myself a rash from it. I eat healthy for a week and then want pizza for three.

I have no set place in life, so I’m nicheless.
